Startup Exchange is back. Meet the eight joining us at ONS 2026
ONS 2026 is coming up, August 24 to 27. And we're bringing promising startups from around the world.
Eight of them, actually. Startups from the US, the UK, Brazil and Norway are joining us in Stavanger through our Startup Exchange program, which we run together with Equinor, with support from Agenda Vestlandet. The idea is simple: connect relevant startups with the companies, decision-makers and investors who can help turn good technology into real business opportunities.
How we got here
Startup Exchange started at ONS 2024, when we teamed up with Greentown Labs in Houston and Startuplab in Oslo to bring six climate tech companies together in Stavanger: CalWave, Advanced Ionics and CLS Wind from the US, and ZEG Power, Renasys and Soundsensing from Norway.
In 2025 we flipped the direction. Four Norwegian startups came with us to Houston Climate and Energy Startup Week. They pitched at Equinor and Woodside Energy, met investors, and presented to a crowd of 300+. The trip led to new commercial opportunities, investor interest and conversations that continued long after they came home.

This time the exchange goes further than ever, with companies from four countries:
From the US
ATS Energy turns industrial waste heat into clean electricity with its Solid-State Generator. With no moving parts and no new fuel required, the technology converts heat that would otherwise go to waste into reliable onsite power, helping industrial operators reduce energy costs, improve efficiency and cut emissions.
BiaTech gives industrial teams an AI engineer for every operator. Combining physics and AI on live operations data, from sensors, SCADA and cameras, their platform predicts what will happen next and tells the operator what to do about it. Better decisions, less downtime.
From the UK
Fennex builds AI-powered software for safety, assurance and compliance in high-hazard industries. Founded by offshore oil and gas professionals. Their platform streamlines safety, compliance and operational workflows and is already supporting offshore operations on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Lean Decom helps oil and gas companies prepare their people for the transition from production to decommissioning. Through practical, expert-led training built on lessons from real projects, they cover the full decommissioning lifecycle and show how technical, commercial, regulatory, safety and environmental decisions connect.
From Brazil
NOR Space Intelligence combines satellite data and AI to detect risks around pipelines, power lines, mines and other land-based infrastructure. By combining SAR and optical satellite data in one platform, they help operators identify threats such as fires, ground movement, vegetation and unauthorised activity and turn orbital observations into actionable alerts.
Pix Force uses AI to make industrial operations safer and automate asset inspections. Their platform turns standard cameras into a 24/7 safety system that detects missing protective equipment and red-zone breaches, while automated drones collect inspection data and AI identifies issues such as corrosion.
Monitorai builds sensors and AI that detect early signs of failure in critical industrial assets. Leaks, corrosion, cracks and abnormal vibration can be identified early, helping operators move from reactive maintenance towards predictive, data-driven operations.
From Norway
Novatech, based right here in Stavanger, develops NESSi, a cloud-based platform that uses machine learning and operational data to forecast future energy demand, greenhouse gas emissions and carbon costs, helping oil and gas companies make better decarbonisation decisions.
